Skipsations! Jump Rope Team has been performing, competing and teaching jump rope workshops and camps since 1999. Based in Chapel Hill, the Team consists of 28 boys and girls ranging in age from 6-18 years old with an additional contingent of adult members.
Children in lower income homes have an opportunity to participate in social and educational enrichment activities, with help from the SKJAJA Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization in Chapel Hill. The fund was created in September 2008 by Eric and Charlotte White to not only provide funding for children who might not be able to afford such activities, but also to teach an important lesson about citizenship.
Spoke ‘n Revolutions seeks to utilize cycling tours to provide youth development and education services, as well as a greater appreciation of outdoor activities and physical vigor. Spoke ‘n Revolutions provides middle school and high school students an opportunity usually missing to this demographic: explore their community through the perspective of a cyclist.
Spoke’n Revolutions Youth Cycling (SnR) is the flagship program of Triangle Bikeworks involving high school youth cyclists. The program utilizes cycling as a gateway to youth development and leadership training for under-served youth in the Triangle area (currently Chapel Hill/Carrboro and soon Durham).
