Blue Ribbon Youth Leadership Institute seeks to provide youth with leadership skills necessary to become servant leaders in their communities, to make meaningful contributions to their communities and to empower them to be advocates for change.
Boys and Girls Club of Eastern Piedmont provides summer sessions and after school sessions which focus on the entire aspect of a young person’s life. We have Power Hour for academic/educational assistance; Smart Choices which addresses all the many choices a youth has to make and gives them the information and understanding of making positive choices;
Campus Y is a medium for service, activism, and social justice work where UNC students can engage their community internationally, locally, and right on campus. Extraordinary Ventures has several business models that employ and sustain a litany of mentally handicapped people. Extraordinary Ventures, Inc. is a nonprofit that provides employment and social opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities.
Fusion Youth Radio (at the Marian Cheek Jackson Center for Saving and Making History) is dedicated to furthering equity, inspiring creativity, and promoting dialogue among youth from many different backgrounds by providing them opportunities to tell their stories in their own words.
