ASNCOC, the Autism Society of North Carolina, Orange-Chatham chapter, is a volunteer organization of parents and supporters that provides a forum to strengthen the local community for those with autism and related disorders. As parents, we support one another with information and encouragement. Through the grapevine, members keep each other aware of current happenings.
School Social Workers/Family Specialists play a crucial role in the CHCCS district by removing barriers to children’s academic, social and emotional success through our work with students, families, school faculty/staff, and community support agencies.
First in Families NC helps individuals that have development disabilities or traumatic brain injuries by providing for families’ self-defined needs. Support can include academic assistance (textbooks or school supplies), funding to pay fees for general programs for children, and assistance in physical labor or household errands
