Boomerang is a youth development organization. Its mission is to inspire youth to bounce back from challenges and move towards positive change. It accomplishes this through its programs – Alternative to Suspension and Continuing Connections After School – which have served over 2000 young people since 2006.
The Coalition is an alliance of organizations, individuals and other stakeholders who work collaboratively to prevent underage drinking and teen drug use by advancing education, strategic enforcement and effective policies and initiatives.
North Carolinians against Gun Violence (NCGV) provides gun-safety training to children from pre-school age up and also runs the Teens on Target (TNT) program, a training and group discussion curriculum that teaches teens to be advocates against violence
The Orange County Rape Crisis Center seeks to stop sexual violence and its impact through support, education, and advocacy.OCRCC seeks to raise awareness about sexual abuse and offer a safe haven for primary or secondary abuse survivors.
The TSC / Youth Community Project is dedicated to providing youth-created spaces, where young people can pursue their healthy desires for socializing, creative expression, self-determination, and collective empowerment. 10 serve on the “youth board”, and events have hosted up to 300 teens.
Tobacco. Reality. Unfiltered. (TRU) is a state-wide movement for teens and by teens to stay tobacco-free. TRU Teens are peer educators who are empowered to decide what strategies and activities they want to use to take a stand against tobacco use.
