Specialized recreation programs, adapted to suit the needs of children and youth with disabilities, includes emphasis on social skills, sensory needs and fun!

This multipurpose recreation center offers an indoor pool, gymnasium, climbing wall and meeting room. Outside are basketball and bocce ball courts, playground, Gene Strowd Community Rose Garden with gazebo, compost demonstration site, walking trails and picnic tables. Outside areas on first come basis. Inside areas can be rented.

Kidical Mass
In the fall of 2011, the founders of Triangle Bikeworks partnered with several organizations including, the Carrboro Bike Coalition and the Town of Carrboro Recreation and Parks to hold the first ever Kidical Mass event in North Carolina. Since that first successful event we’ve held it each spring and fall.

Nathan Ligo founded “The Society for the Betterment of the Human Condition through the Training, Instruction and Propagation of Budo Karate” in 1999. Ligo Dojo of Budo Karate (a d.b.a. name for the same 501.c.3 nonprofit) opened its first dojo (karate school) in Durham in 2006 and a second one in Chapel Hill in 2011. Our dojos are open to the general public and membership fees are on a sliding scale. We utilize grant funds to support our general mission and youth outreach.
