Blue Ribbon Mentor-Advocate (BRMA) is a comprehensive support program for middle and high school students of color (African American, Latino, Burmese, Karen) in the Chapel Hill – Carrboro City Schools. BRMA provides students with mentoring, tutoring, advocacy, enrichment, leadership training, and scholarship support services.
The group looks for opportunities to facilitate the growth of services by raising money to improve the parks and open spaces in Carrboro.
SLI helps Latino children from Chapel Hill to Siler City improve their lives by providing mentoring, counseling, college preparation, and even financial assistance to those continuing their education. Many volunteers including mentors from UNC. Funded by UNC and private foundations.
