ASNCOC, the Autism Society of North Carolina, Orange-Chatham chapter, is a volunteer organization of parents and supporters that provides a forum to strengthen the local community for those with autism and related disorders. As parents, we support one another with information and encouragement. Through the grapevine, members keep each other aware of current happenings.
NCTRC exists to empower children and adults with physical, emotional, mental and social challenges to create active, healthier and more fulfilling lives through equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT).
Children in lower income homes have an opportunity to participate in social and educational enrichment activities, with help from the SKJAJA Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization in Chapel Hill. The fund was created in September 2008 by Eric and Charlotte White to not only provide funding for children who might not be able to afford such activities, but also to teach an important lesson about citizenship.
Voices Together is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization with specialized music therapy, that is backed by scientific research from Duke University, and led by board-certified music therapists.
Volunteers for Youth serves Orange County, NC youth through community service, teen court, and mentoring programs.
